The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine. This is the first book written for the average person to directly and honestly address the very important topics of God, Deism, Christianity, Judaism, the Bible, etc. This is a very powerful book and an excellent introduction to Deism!

This book includes most of Thomas Paine's important writings, including Common Sense, The Crisis, The Rights of Man and The Age of Reason.

There is a God is a great book written by the former life long proponent of Atheism, Antony Flew. Mr. Flew evolved into a Deist in 2004. This book is co-written by a Christian who doesn't even mention the words "Deist" or "Deism" in either his preface or his appendix to the book. However, Mr. Flew writes in the first line of his introduction, "Ever since the announcement of my 'conversion' to deism, . . . "! Finally, Deism is beginning to get the attention it deserves! Mr. Flew gives great reasons why Atheism is flawed.

Reason: The Only Oracle of Man by Ethan Allen. This is a great book written by the American Revolutionary War hero, Ethan Allen. The logic found in this work is strong and helps to separate Nature's God from the mythical Bible god as well as to elevate our God-given reason to its proper place!

When Prayer Fails - Faith Healing, Children, and the Law Every year children die due to superstition embraced by their parents or guardians. The superstition which is addressed by this book is the Christian teaching of faith healing. Our God-given reason tells us to give medical care to sick or injured people, especially little children. Sadly, many people who are trapped by Christianity and the Bible don't allow medical help to reach their children. This book also addresses the unreasonable and deadly state and federal statutes that make child abuse, if done for religious "reasons", legal.

The Dark Side of Christian History is a very important book to give you a solid understanding of what life was like before the revolutionaries brought about separation of church and state! Burning people alive for disagreeing with religious dogma was common. This book is very well documented!

The Pope and the Heretic is a great read! Giordano Bruno was a 16th century Catholic monk who had the intelligence and courage to think and speak independently. Before Galileo, Bruno openly wrote and said that the universe is infinite and that the earth is not the center of it. For this he was arrested and burned alive. He is a true martyr for progress!

The Jefferson Bible makes it clear that Thomas Jefferson did not buy into the myth that Jesus was the son of God or that the Gospels are a part of the "word of God."  Jefferson actually cut and pasted the parts of the Gospels that he thought Jesus probably actually said into a collection that is now known as the Jefferson Bible.

Religious Life of Thomas Jefferson is an interesting look at Jefferson's deeply held religious/spiritual beliefs. It brings out the fact that he was a Deist!

The Prince of War is an insightful look at the media darling of the evangelicals, Billy Graham. It points out and documents many facts that the popular media overlook about Graham's religious/political career. An interesting read.

Jewish Philosophy and the Crisis of Modernity is a very important look at what is behind the neoconservative movement that is currently promoting war for their desire to see the world living according to the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament). Leo Strauss was a Jewish professor who taught these ideas to neocons such as Paul Wolfowitz who was the driving force behind the attack and war on Iraq. The neocons are currently pushing for war with Iran in order to promote Israel's well being. This book contains many revealing essays and speeches of Leo Strauss. They are a must read for anyone who wants to understand the thinking of the enemies of peace and to stop the rush to war against Iran and eventually Syria.

War is a Racket is a powerful hard hitting book by former US Marine General Smedley Butler. Butler knew from first hand experience that war truly is a racket despite the noble sounding reasons governments give for starting wars. This book was written in 1932 but it's principles carry through to today.

Assault on the Liberty is written by James M. Ennes, Jr. who was a US Navy officer onboard the USS Liberty when it was repeatedly attacked by Israeli fighter jets and torpedo boats. He wrote this book as an eye-witness who survived the terror of the unprovoked attack on the virtually unarmed ship flying the American flag. This book is a real eye-opener about the US government's relationship with Israel that has caused the deaths of not only the 32 US sailors and 2 US Marines who were killed onboard the USS Liberty, but also our unnatural and twisted US foreign policy for the Middle East that has cost US tax payers BILLIONS of dollars and the world millions of lives.

Imperial Hubris is written by Michael Scheuer who was the leader of the CIA's team set up to deal with Osama bin Laden. This book pulls not punches as it spells out why 9/11 happened and answers many other very important questions that the politicians and media gloss over.

The Israel Lobby is the best written, researched and documented book on this very important question of who really runs US foreign policy for the Middle East. The Israel lobby is so powerful it has both Democrat and Republican politicians shaking in their boots while jumping through the hoops of "the Lobby"! A must read for anyone who wants to understand American politics and foreign policy.

Einstein is an in-depth and interesting look at Albert Einstein. Portions of this book cover Einstein's outlook on God and religion. Just as interesting is how Einstein looked at and worked with science.

Einstein and Religion is a great book about the great physicist Albert Einstein. It brings out his Deistic beliefs and, like the book Einstein, makes it clear he was not an Atheist nor a Pantheist. Great reading!

Meditations by the great Roman Stoic and Emperor Marcus Aurelius is loaded with practical advice for living a happy and fulfilled life. This is one of those books that should come with a highlighter!

Discourses of Epictetus is a thought provoking book with the writings of the tutor of Marcus Aurelius! Great ideas and input on living life to the fullest!

Art of Living by Epictetus. This is a practical guide to living a happy and productive life! The application of reason and common sense in our daily lives will make for a much better life. The Roman Stoics knew this just as Deists today know this.

Letters from a Stoic is a collection of letters written by the great Roman Stoic, Seneca. Seneca was born around the same time Jesus is said to have been born. It's interesting to compare the practical advice Seneca gives his readers compared to the twisted, ambiguous teachings credited to Jesus.

On the Good Life is an interesting collection of essays by the famous Roman philosopher, Cicero. Cicero was key in bringing Greek philosophy to Rome. His writings make you think and make you wish they were as well known as the Bible! It would be a much better world if they were!

The Life of Brian is a hilarious movie about Brian Cohen who was born in the manger next to Jesus and is mistaken for Jesus all of his life. It is really funny!

The Meaning of Life is another great comedy by Monty Python! It really makes you think and laugh!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a great off-beat classic comedy that pokes fun at the idea of the "holy grail"!

Inherit the Wind is the classic movie starring Spencer Tracy about the Scope's Monkey Trial which brought out the forces for and against evolution. It's a well done and interesting movie.

USS Liberty Dead in the Water is a very powerful documentary about the vicious and unprovoked Israeli attack on the USS Liberty which resulted in the deaths of 34 American sailors and Marines. Some of the survivors are interviewed as are some of the assailants as well as military and political leaders on both sides. It is a very well rounded look at this despicable and inexcusable incident. It sheds light on the deadly "special" relationship the US politicians have with Israel.

The Rapture is an interesting film about a woman who is leading a meaningless life who "get's saved" and then all Hell breaks loose. Even though it deals with Christian and Biblical myths, it makes some interesting points and is thought provoking.
