I have been a Deist for over 20 years, and my views have evolved over the years to where I am now, a "Unified Deist". I am hoping to find like-minded Deists who want to take a more active role.
I am not sure where most you are located but the USA is going through a religious war for our freedom of thought and expression. This being the 250th anniversary of our freedom as a country our deistic past is getting erased and deists such as Jefferson/Washington/ Payne/Franklin/Lincoln who worked so hard to provide us these freedoms, would be shocked and ashamed today.

Thanks Tony and Kelly for your feedback. I understand the philosophy enough but that individuality which made the belief a faith over 200 years ago moved it into dormancy since. The problem with just letting this be a "natural belief" is that 99% of the world does not know our definition. I found so far 0 podcasts, maybe 10 or more Utube videos and a handful of books. My goal is not to follow LDS and knock on doors, but to prompt more discussions from like minded followers to see if there can be another path.

I came from an evangelical christian background and never felt at peace with the theology and historicity of the texts. I always believed in a "first cause" a creator of the universe and everything within it, however I always felt the god of the bible and revealed religions was so obviously man derived and full of myth etc. For me the "deist God" is the true God, the creator of all that is and is not limited by a religion or a book. The Deist God can be seen through the creation and the natural law that the Deist God has so magnificently established and designed. The Desist founding fathers of America described this God and the "father of lights" (the creator who illuminates our minds through reason and nature). If we tap into our God given reason and seek the creator we will find the wisdom and majesty of God's essence in us and around us. May the father of lights through reason and common sense fill you will peace and joy.
My acceptance of there being a Creator is not important, it is quite clear that there HAS to be one!
When studying the Universe (as we know it...), it becomes quite obvious that, due to past events & therefore predictability of the past, it has been scientifically accepted that the Universe is about 13.8 billion years old.

What you wrote makes a lot of sense. There are questions regarding the Creation/universe that no one has the answers to. That's one of the great things about Deism I appreciate; Deism simply states the laws and designs in nature is proof there is a Designer of Nature, The Supreme Intelligence/God. That's it. Your first sentence reminded me of this insightful quote from the Deist Voltaire did "If God did not exist, he would have to be invented.
