Are the clergy of the various "revealed"/hearsay religions God? At first glance most people would say no. However, what is the reality of it?
 
The popular Christian slogan found on billboard signs and bumper stickers that states: "God Said It, I Believe It, That Settles It" and which usually has a picture of a Bible on it makes a strong claim that God wrote, or at least dictated, the Bible to ancient Jews and Christians. Believers make the incorrect assumption that the Bible is the Word of God. This, in reality, is mistaking the clergy who wrote the Bible, as well as who wrote the Quran and the Book of Mormon, for God, or at least mistaking what the clergy wrote for what God wrote/the Word of God.
