Christian Misogyny

All of the man-made "revealed" Abrahamic religions are very misogynistic.
Judaism shows its anti-women, and anti-Gentile, core with its daily morning blessing, the Birkot HaShachar (בִּרְכוֹת הַשַּׁחַר – "Morning Blessings" or "Dawn Blessings"), which Orthodox Jews recite. The blessing includes,
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁלֹּא עָשַׂנִי גּוֹי
(Blessed are You… who has not made me a gentile)
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁלֹּא עָשַׂנִי עֶבֶבֶד
(…who has not made me a slave)
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁלֹּא עָשַׂנִי אִשָּׁה
(…who has not made me a woman)
In the Hebrew Bible/Christian Old Testament, a father is permitted to sell his daughters into slavery. Exodus 21:7 states,
"And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do."
The statement regarding "menservants" means daughters sold into slavery by their father cannot become free after six-years as Jewish men sold into debt-slavery were.
In Islam, not only are women considered to be inferior to men, Islamic men are instructed to physically beat/scourge women if the men are fearful that the women may become rebellious towards the superior men. In the Quran 4:34 men are taught and instructed,
"Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great."
In spite of the solid and deep misogyny of the man-made patriarchal "revealed" Abrahamic religions, it's not uncommon to hear about Christian women who want more say regarding Christian churches they belong to and more responsibility in running their particular Christian denomination. In the Roman Catholic Church, women work to overturn the prohibition on women being ordained as Catholic priests. Women are also struggling to join the clergy of the Southern Baptist Convention, and certain conservative Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Global South Anglican sects.
According to the AI of Grok, these Christian denominations currently allow women to be part of the clergy:
United Methodist Church (since 1956)
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and most European Lutheran churches
Presbyterian Church (USA) (PCUSA)
Episcopal Church (USA) (since 1976; women bishops since 2006)
United Church of Christ (UCC)
Disciples of Christ
American Baptist Churches USA (individual congregations decide, but nationally affirmed)
Most Pentecostal denominations (e.g., Assemblies of God since 1914, Church of God (Cleveland), Foursquare Church, etc.—historically very open to women preachers)
Quaker (Religious Society of Friends) – egalitarian since the 17th century
Salvation Army – women officers since its founding
Seventh-day Adventist Church
Is it, according to the Christian Bible which all Christian denominations are based on, permissible for women to be members of the Christian clergy?
Objectively reading the Christian Bible, it becomes very obvious that women are not only barred from joining the clergy, they are commanded to remain silent in church. It would be impossible for a member of the clergy to remain silent in church, with the exception of clergy who take vows of silence. The Christian Bible also forbids women to have any authority over men. This would also make it impossible for women to be members of the clergy.
1 Corinthians 14: 34-35 teaches,
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church."
At 1 Timothy 2: 11-12 there is the same ignorance and superstition and myth-based misogyny. These verses read,
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
The next two verses explain why the attacks against women are necessary. It's based on the foolish myth of Adam and Eve. The verses state,
"For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."
Women who are currently under the influence of Christianity need to ask themselves why they belong to a religion that is misogynistic. Women who want to join the clergy of misogynistic Christian denominations need to ask themselves why. It's important to keep in mind that the misogyny is not in a denomination's by-laws, it's in the "holy" scriptures which are claimed to be the Word of God. This fact brings up an other issue: why would anyone have such a low opinion of The Supreme Intelligence/God as to believe The Supreme Intelligence/God is the paramount misogynist?
Men who love and appreciate women also need to ask themselves why they belong to a religious denomination that is so misogynistic and slanders The Supreme Intelligence/God by claiming the anti-women teachings in the Bible are from The Supreme Intelligence.
Reason-based Deism is offering us a way out of this harmful misogynistic nonsense. When Deists reach a large enough number of people with Deism, this primary source of misogyny will be gone. It's up to us, as Deists, to do all we can to reach as many people as we can with Deism!
