Deist: It Describes Me

I now identify as a Deist because I simply just found the word that describes everything I've been trying to tell everybody else about who I am spiritually, religiously, whatever words you want to use.

I am 59 and I've heard Buddhism, Taoism, Atheism, Catholicism, Baptist, Episcopalian, etc. So many descriptors. 59 YEARS of never hearing DEIST, but as soon as I read the basic beliefs and principles of Deism, I thought a 5 letter word for what I've been trying to encapsulate by way of sentences, paragraphs, and at times, nearly a thesis of my views.

It just seems like me in a nutshell, as far as trying to express to any other human being what makes me feel like my life is just not a cardboard plastic thing, but that it was designed by something or someone; this shows there is a purpose for my existence.

For me, the biggest question I've noticed most people ask themselves is "why am I here"? I don't think I know, or understand, the full purpose of it, but to believe that somebody created this universe I'm a part of is helpful to me. That is why I'm a Deist.
