Unified Deism
I have been a Deist for over 20 years, and my views have evolved over the years to where I am now, a "Unified Deist". I am hoping to find like-minded Deists who want to take a more active role.
I am not sure where most you are located but the USA is going through a religious war for our freedom of thought and expression. This being the 250th anniversary of our freedom as a country our deistic past is getting erased and deists such as Jefferson/Washington/ Payne/Franklin/Lincoln who worked so hard to provide us these freedoms, would be shocked and ashamed today.
The trends here show that the "spiritual/non-religious" are growing and now over 30%, MTD (Moralist Therapeutic Deism) over 40% and the preferred spiritual direction of younger generations want a "Deistic Faith". I have spoken to 100s in various Christian faiths who, after you peal back the layers, are actually Deists. Of course, the 2% of Atheist/ Agnostic some just have not found the "label/name" of what their beliefs are.
Since our faith/ spirituality has been built on individuality there is not a clear mission or vision. Even in this platform, I have read Deism being labeled as a religion, way of life, and spirituality.
I am asking for feedback, other contacts, and platforms that may connect us together.
Our seed was planted in ancient Greece, after the Enlightment, Deism was at a peak. In the over 200 years we have been dormant but there are millions out there who do belong and now is our time for a "Re-Enlightment."
Thanks Tony and Kelly for your feedback. I understand the philosophy enough but that individuality which made the belief a faith over 200 years ago moved it into dormancy since. The problem with just letting this be a "natural belief" is that 99% of the world does not know our definition. I found so far 0 podcasts, maybe 10 or more Utube videos and a handful of books. My goal is not to follow LDS and knock on doors, but to prompt more discussions from like minded followers to see if there can be another path.
